May 15, 2011

Two of Ellivo Architects’ dynamic young Architects have this month been awarded for their academic achievements at QUT.

Graduate Architect Michael Small, from Everton Hills is the recipient of the Board of Architects of Queensland Prize of $1000 for showing the greatest proficiency (highest GPA) on graduation from the Masters of Architects.

And Matthew Martoo, from Ascot has been awarded the Australia Institute of Architects Prize QIA Medallion for being the most outstanding student in the final year of the Bachelor of Design (Architectural Studies) and showing consistent progress throughout the course.

“Both have worked very hard, admirably managing to balance their comittment to their professional career and university at the same time,” said Mason Cowle, Director of Ellivo Architects.

Michael has worked with Ellivo Architects for over 5 years, through the majority of his degree.  And now, as a graduate at the forefront of his industry, he is exploring the cutting edge digital form architecture that he did his thesis on, and bringing his studies into a practical work environment to benefit our clients.

Matthew started with Ellivo Architects earlier this year, and further reinforces the design capability of the office with his fresh and dynamic approach.

“At Ellivo, we love engaging students as we enjoy the energy and enthusiasm that they bring to the office.  We find their understanding and acceptance of technology in architecture keeps us ahead of the curve,” said Mason.
