Our New Home
(Understand the people )
Our new office is a home, but not only for us.
We share it with our consultants, suppliers, friends, family, clients and even our pets – Why not design for them?
As we unpack the needs of each user, we find tensions, surprises and insights. By translating what we’ve heard and seen into defined opportunities, we create powerful areas of focus for ideation. We ask: What’s really happening? What are the unmet needs? Why are people behaving in this way? What really matters?
( Define Opportunities )
We define opportunities by examining the extremes – breaking down limitations and discovering unique possibilities.
For our new office, this translated into an exploration of 5 key questions which formed our own brief:
How might we design…
1. A home for our clients and consultants?
2. A home for health and wellbeing?
3. A welcoming and open home?
4. A home that represents us?
5. A well-connected home?
( Ideate )
Pen to Paper
How Might We…? This is the simple question that we ask. We use different methods and approaches to create a raft of ideas that address the unmet needs of the user.
We focus on delivering meaningful experiences not objects. It’s about building on each other’s thoughts and inspirations.
( Prototype + Test )
What works + What doesn’t?
As favoured ideas are selected, we then build prototypes and test them with the users of our space.
In doing this, we discover what works, what doesn’t, and what other questions need to be asked?
It’s an iterative process, we build on what we learn, and we learn from what we build, while constantly asking “does what we’ve created matter?”
( Tell the Story )
Sharing Our Journey
In the end, the best experience is a good story and we live for storytelling.
We tell the story of the challenge and how it impacted the lives of our users. We tell the story of change and how we brought new meaning and delight. We tell the story of what matters.
Thanks for following our journey – Come in and say hello!
